Nice looking ride! I've seen a few XK8's around here and I really love the classic look of the previous body style.

Agree on the "Old School" look. Loved my XK8. But, I am really loving the XK.

Great looking car. I, too love the first series as well as the newer body, and of course, the 5.0L/510+hp engine. So, I had to have one of each.

Now, you guys are making want to look for an early XK roadster....when did that body style hit the bricks?...early 80s?

Nice Jag, Brgjag
you are forgiven for the late day pictures. Are those roof shingles? I'm surprised you had the strength to pick up the camera.

Yes those are roof shingles. My 100 year old slate roof is coming off today and shingles going up.

Like it a lot
To me the XK looks best as a coupe and the XK8 looks best as a convertible
I think one of each would be a good idea

@tberg, since you own both models, can you compare and contrast the ride quality of the new vs. old?

Cheers,
Wolfy

Tim,

As discussed in PM's, I've moved this thread from XK/XKR 2006 Onwards to XK8/XKR 1996-2006.

I've left a redirect in XK/XKR so members who have already responded can find it.

Wolfy,
I started a thread about a week ago titled "Sibling XKR's" in which I have started to compare the two. I have not had a chance to drive the 2010 very much, however there are things I like and dislike in comparison to my 2002. I plan on updating the comparison on a regular basis. Obviously, the power, suspension, and handling of the 5.0L 2010 are superior to the 2002, BUT, it's also more clinical and isolated in accomplishing this, thus making the 2002 somehow more fun to drive. Take a look at the thread and let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll try and address them. I am taking the 2010 on a 3 hour ride today, I'll have more to say about it later this evening.

The 97-06 model run with all its ISSUES I still think the car is going to be timeless in it's looks. Heck I think the latest body style has other cars out there that sorta look like it. Not the case with the Xk8's.

This color combo is one of my favorites--classy and understated.
