Default PO455 code clarification.

PO455 code clarification......if there is such a thing.

lve been getting a check engine light and a PO455 'evap large leak' in my 1999 convertible. There is no other code or message accompanying it.

This seems to come on around 70 ish kms or around 45 miles. At first I thought this is the gas cap but I also also get a whiff of petrol in the cabin its not constant its like a whiff after driving a while and shortly its gone.

Does the failed gas cap seal lead to a smell in the cabin?

Cheers

TSBs are your friend. You should find and read all that pertain to your car and you will find most of your questions have already been noted by Jaguar.
Here are a few issued in the past.

Book:

As you already have the code, searching for past instances should be easier. Please note this code is "P" zero four five five, not "P" Oscar four five five.

The standard procedure calls for locating the green Shrader valve to inject smoke and then see it leak out. From memory, it is located in the driver side wheel well. Barring that, I assume the back side of the purge valve would do as well (same location).

Best of luck, keep us posted.
