Poor acceleration on my 2000 model XKR 4.0L
Since I bought my car last year I haven't been impressed with the performance although I haven't driven it that much.
But now I am and the acceleration is poor with the car struggling on it especially between 30-50mph
It sounds like it wants to go but resists the acceleration.
I'm not sure of there's a misfire or fuel problem, timing etc.
Just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem.
I went to a garage that has a rolling road but the guy took the car for a spin and straight away said there's certainly a problem but we need it for a couple of days to investigate.
I'm a bit cautious about this as not sure what he'd be doing.
He did however say the compression seems good and the cranking is good
Any ideas would be appreciated

If you do not have an OBDII reader, then find someone who does and pull the codes.
Cheers,
Stu

Is the MIL on, and if so, what DTCs are stored? Kindly post them here.
We do not know the number of kilometres/miles on the vehicle, but given its age, it probably needs to have the spark plugs, cam cover gaskets and spark plug boss seals renewed. If there is oil fouling on any of the coil units, they may need to be replaced.
Misfires can also damage the catalysts, so under no circumstances is the vehicle to be driven under conditions that can cause the MIL to flash.

Howdy Folks:
A stretched throttle cable is very common. Right after buying my car, I adjusted mine "by feel" which made a significant improvement. A few months later, I purchased an ELM327 type bluetooth adapter (~$15) and downloaded the corresponding free "Torque" Android OBDII app which displays % of throttle opening. It was then reading 95%, so I tweaked the adjustment to 100%.
That has been over 5 years ago, I should probably recheck it now.
Good luck.
