Ok looked under the car today and there's a small puddle of power steering fluid at the front drivers side (LHD car). Dived under there and it is coming from the pump as fluid drops from the pump onto the A/C compressor and to the floor i.e. not coming down the high pressure hose. From inside the engine bay I can see fluid on the side of the pump.

On top of the pump is part number MJA8111BH 01/02/01 mft date.

JTIS seems simple DIY job but part price range is anywhere from $159-$700. So can anyone recommend where to buy one of these and at a reasonable price i.e. $160 LOL

Or does anyone know anywhere that will just recondition mine at a reasonable price. I'll do a write up and pics for the forum assuming this has not already been done.

Ebay steering_part will rebuild the one I have for $120 inc S/H
rebuildingfactor.com TBD will rebuild starters/alternators/pumps e.t.c waiting on a price here but likely approx $160.

Amazon the likely candidate as no sales tax and I get to keep the core. The rebuild kit is $12 wish I had the tools knowledge to rebuild the unit myself.

I just had a power steering pump crap out, Jaguar heaven used pump $75.00 core $25.00.

 

Also check your local auto parts stores like Autozone or O'Reily. And look for a lifetime warranty. That warranty means a lot on rebuild part.

 

O reilly and Autozone no longer car this pump, tried several stores , even called corporate and they confirmed no longer available.
