Default Power Steering Pump Leak

I'm dealing with a major power steering fluid leak and struggling to pinpoint the exact source. Initially, I expected it to be coming from a hose, but after getting under the car, it looks like the leak is coming from the top of the pump itself. I don’t see any visible issues with the hoses, which has me wondering—do power steering pumps ever leak on their own?

I would hate to replace the pump and find out that the leak waws coming from somewhere else.

I have had to replace a few pumps because they leak at the housing sections.
The cast parts leak at the seams.

I would expect the leak from that top the pump to come from beneath it, not above it. The pumps themselves aren’t known for developing leaks, though at this age, anything can happen. However, I tend to blindly agree with anything motorcarman says. If anyone here knows it’s an authority on these cars, it’s him.

I would however, rule out if you instead have a timing cover and a steering rack leak instead.

My timing cover was leaking above the power steering pump and that coated the pump and everything beneath it.
