Default Powerfold Mirrors - fuse or relay?

I don't use the Powerfold function and haven't done so since checking it worked when I bought the car last November. However, after Powerfold was mentioned in a thread recently, I thought I'd check it after washing the car this morning.

Nothing. Just a click from somewhere under the LH side of the dash. You never miss something until it's gone!

The normal adjust and reverse dip functions both work. The mirrors are definitely properly engaged on the drive pegs and I am trying it with the switch in the centre position.

The Handbook doesn't show a separate fuse or relay for Powerfold. Is there one or the other inside the door casing?

Itis driven by relay built into the seat control module. Might be a problem with the position sensor switch inside the powerfold mechanism, since you hear a relay click. Try tussling the mirror housing about a bit and see if it starts working.

I fold my mirrors each time I park (I just think it looks neater!) and for some reason a couple of days ago, the switch had no effect. I jiggled it a bit, switched the ignition on & off a couple of times and it worked again.

Jaguar electrics, I suppose...

Tussled / jiggled / cycled ignition on and off and swore at it. Still no movement.

So it's either a fault in the seat module or a sensor within the Powerfold mirror head.

Are the mirrors controlled by their respective seat modules or both by the driver's seat module?

The switch doesn't exactly feel positive although the left and right positions work OK for adjusting the mirrors.

Another check to add to the list - thanks.

It looks from the drawing like another stange Jaguar design where both the drivers and passenger modules are involved in the folding process, so a failure in one module can effect both sides.

That's next weekend taken care of!

I'd better have both Seat Modules out to check for breaks and the Driver's Door card off to check the switch.

Thanks for checking the drawing.
