As of July 2012 I believe the valve kit is now once more available but for those who want to DIY here's the shopping list
Any competent hydraulic shop will make up the hoses.
Total cost with the valve was about £80.
It works by picking up pump pressure from a test point and dumping relief valve blowoff into a port connected to the fluid reservoir.

Order one preset to 1000 psi
The relief valve ports are 2 x ¼ BSPP with a spare for a gauge
You will need a 1/4 BSP blanking plug with bonded (Dowty) washer for the gauge port
and two off 1/4" BSPP Male - 1/8" BSPP Male with bonded washer 1/4" to connect to the supply and return ports.

Two 3/16 hoses 30 cm long with straight 1/8 BSP fittings to mate with the relief valve fittings on one end and 90° 1/8 BSP fittings on the other.
The supply pipe connects to an adaptor which goes in place of the Allen screw head plug next to the petcock. To get it out use a big gun type soldering iron and cook for five minutes. The adaptor needed is M-M 1/8 BSPP.
You will need to use hydraulic thread seal or teftape and rotate the fitting next to it slightly (a smart tap with a hammer is good) to get access.
Remove the brass plug on the other side of the pump body (watch out for fluid leaks) and install a 7/16 UNF to 1/8 BSPP adaptor to take the return hose.
This is low pressure so either teftape or a 7/16 UNF bonded washer is fine.
Check for leaks before putting it all back together.
If nothing happens when you try to lower the top screw in the pressure adjusting screw a fraction of a turn at a time until it works.
The guys who used to provide the kit have left comprehensive instructions on their site and we owe them a great deal for all the work they put into this.

DIYers please note the 40 Bar/turn on the pressure adjustment. Make only very tiny adjustments if the top doesn't work or you'll end up with a valve that doesn't open at all!!

Having a Coupe, I usually only quickly scan posts on Convertible hydraulic issues. Amazes me how on earth such an unreliable design can have persisted for so long.

Couldn't agree more. They should have run the plumbing under the chassis like brake lines but when the car's got no insides it's easy to throw in some flexibles.
Using your SuperPowers would you consider making this a FAQ 'cos I don't want to do it again!!

 

I am presently working with Walt to take over the pressure relief valve. I will update you when it is worked out.

I have the resistor installed and had the pressure relief valve on my to do list but with three kids in college this list easily gets pushed to the back burner.

I panicked when the kit was no longer available as building my own kit may be above my pay grade.

 

I understand, just give me a little time to work out the little things and I will let everyone know.

After we discontinued the Relief Valve Kit we were bombarded with people who have been thinking about it but just never got around to pulling the trigger. Gus and I talked and decided that the best solution is for LSI Controls to bring in another lot of kits since we have the payment and shipping issues all worked out. An individual doing this would find it tedious answering all the questions and dealing with the get paid part.

The decision to drop the kit was strictly related to lack of activity. When I first started this enterprise it was because efforts to get some consolidated orders did not materialize. We will continue to offer the kit as long as there is interest. When the last reorder point came along, activity was low, so we decided to not reorder. I am willing to help people out but eating a big pile of kits isn't on the menu.
