Why does the 01 XK8 handbook have nothing about the radio or bluetooth????

And where can I find this info?

 

I know my 2002 XKR doesn't have Bluetooth so I doubt your 2001 does. As far as the radio is concerned, there is another manual, in addition to the owners manual that coveres it. I have like 4 or 5 manuals that came with my car, including the owners manual. As far as downloading the manual, go to the sticky FAQ thread at the top of this forum; there's a link there.

So my 01 has the phone system, where you could program in your phone?

The wiring is all there but the actual phone, a special Motorola cell phone, was an option. There was a dock in the center arm rest console to connect the phone if you ordered that option.

Bluetooth products were rare in 2001. The first Bluetooth standard was even not ratified until 2002.

 

I was reading about adding bluetooth, but it seems to be more trouble than it is worthm at least for me. Guess, I will stick with using my bluetooth that goes on my ear, as I do not like to talk and drive.
