Well put that in your location slot top right on a post ...
Not sure of the conditions in canada but i would be looking for wet footwell carpets , water under the back seat , corrosion at the rear of the sills . If its solid its a good start.
Cars approaching 60,000 will require extensive expensive maintenance..timing chains etc so check out whats been done......
All depends on the price ...
If you dont have the tools and knowledge to work on the car yourself then its going to be very expensive to keep the car on the road.

2006 has the best powertrain IMHO. (4.2 V8 with ZF 6 speed). The 4.2L V8 is a nice engine. Contradicting previous post, but I think timing chains are a non-issue with the 4.2. (Was an issue with 4.0 pre 2002.)
We have a 4.2 / 6 speed in the XJ8 and 4.0 / 5 speed in our XK8. I prefer the 4.2. Others may disagree - that's OK..
Normally aspirated 4.2 engine has VVT sensors gaskets that can leak / weep. Easy to fix. Supercharged engine doesn't have these sensors. Somebody else might comment on these engines.
ZF 6 speed transmission is great but "sealed for life" limits its service life. Some people do a fluid swap at 60K miles / 100K kilometers. Same for rear axle.
Convertible or Coupe? Some model years have trouble with hydraulic hoses for the soft top. They can burst at high pressure. My '02 model needed new hoses (large job to completely replace hoses - doable DIY - but very expensive if done at a shop - lots of labor) I replaced the plastic lines with high pressure braided lines and also added a pressure relief valve. This issue may have been fixed by 2006 - don't know. Others might?
Modern car electrics, so potentially lots of issues if wet / corroded. Old radio tech. Adding Bluetooth can be involved. GPS didn't age well, so some people prefer the three gauges instead of the screen. Check every button works, including all seat adjustments.
We're very pleased with our '02. It looks great. Drives nicely. Good (not great) performance. Wonderful touring car for two!
Usual advice applies: Buy the best. Interior condition needs to be perfect, steer clear from any rust and look for evidence of regular maintenance.
Also - make sure you get two keys. Programming new keys is much easier if you already have two.

PS - Let us know how you get on!
