Actually, I just got this brand new key both, cut and programmed for just $65.00 by a local, independent lock and key place, here near LAX. Based on what I have previously heard, this is quite a bargain, but also unique because every one of the independents tht I called, they all said that they do not do Jaguars.

What is the MY of the Jaguar? I just went through an ordeal buying a remote that was not for my MY vehicle. My MY is 2003, and I just got back from the Ford Dealership where I purchased a fob for 60 bucks, including tax. I probably could of gotten it cheaper on the net, but I am impatient and want it now. I programmed it in the parking lot. Once I entered programming mode I pressed the lock button, the car confirmed, but did not exit programming mode, so I pressed all the buttons, still no exit, then I just kept pressing them, each time getting a confirmation beep, past the five times some procedures state, and still no exit. So, I just removed the key and tested the remote and it works!!! Check the back of the fob for the numbers and depending on the last 5 digits of the VIN#, you can determine if you have the proper remote for that MY vehicle. Information as provided by Graham follows; I needed the LJE2610AC, or equivalent provided by Ford. BTW, Ford will only recognize it by their #FOR8S-4Z-15K-601A, but this is for my MY car, depending on her MY car, you may be able to pick it up for 60 bucks at Ford.

"The changeover for LJE2610AC was VIN A30645.
The previous spec LJE2610AB ran through from VIN A11051 to A30644. The one you have, LJA2610AA ended with VIN A11050."

That is a great price. I need some keys made for a couple of my other Jags. It's a little too far for me. I'll have my wife call around and see if we can't somebody around Sacramento.

Thanks for the information. The lady was to come by Sunday but never show up. Maybe she will call later? The imformation on the FOBS and the valet system in this thread helps me to learn more and more about these cars. Thank you and the other members for your responses.
