Default Stuck in Valet mode

Hi,

After disconnecting/reconnecting the battery, the car went into valet mode.. so I cant open the boot with the key, the switch on the trunk itself.. and the license plate covers the manual override..

i was wondering if there is a default code for the valet mode as i did not configure one at all..

No default code that I'm aware of Parzival. If the vehicle had a previous owner, you can maybe contact them for the code. Otherwise I think a dealership can use their software to override and reset it.

Or, try this;
Take your license plate off (they are fastened from the outside, right?) and open the boot with the key blade and remove the positive battery cable. Touch that cable to the negative battery cable for 10 seconds, then reinstall everything. That will hard-boot all the electronics.

Cee jay please explain more I've never heard of re-booting a vehicles ecu / electronics etc by simply removing the positive terminal and then connecting it to the negative terminal for a period of time

It was explained to me by the European Indie shop that I used to patronize. It seems that just disconnecting the battery allows all the electronics to maintain their current because of all the diodes and such, which keeps all the settings and so-on stored. By touching the two leads together BYPASSING the battery (never touch anything between two connected leads, of course) that the capacitors and such are drained and then reset by having the residual power drawn back to Earth. It doesn't do anything to the ECU, or any other CU that has programs and such forth, only to the volatile memories like the seats, windows, such forth.
The manager at this Indie shop even demonstrated on his own Porsche, or I wouldn't have believed it so readily.
I'm not saying it would work for a Valet Mode setting, but hey, if it DID and avoided a trip to a Jaguar Dealer, it would be worth a shot.
Of course, I decline all liability if something were to happen, as there is always a possibility of who-knows-what. Electronically, it is a sound principle.

If Cee Jay has seen this with his own eyes Id wouldnt to trying it before heading to the dealership for a full reset

FYI, what CeeJay is proposing is common practice for resetting the X350.

The "hard reset" is explained in the attached procedures from JLR.

The only thing about this official JLR document is that it states "touch the two terminals together", where someone who doesn't know better will touch the two BATTERY terminals together with some sort of jumper, instead of doing the correct thing which is touch the two CABLES together.
Nomenclature can be a bitch sometimes, depending upon where one lives.

Talk about a coincidence..... my Nav Screen just yesterday went black and would not come back after a full recharge on the tender and the old "Double-Lock and Let Sit" method, despite numerous restarts.
Anyway, I did the Disconnect, Wait, Touch Cables and Replace trick and all is well. It even made my stupid intermittent "Tire Not Monitored" alert vanish off the front-right, where I replaced the transmitter AND antenna.

It should not be read by anyone "who doesn't know better" (although now it's posted here I suppose that has become a possibility).

You realise it's intended only for trained technicians? Same as the workshop manual which it references.

No trained technician should be in any doubt as to what touching the terminals together means and besides if a piece of wire were needed then it would say so.

"Should" and "Intended" don't mean squat when you get a fool with too much information.
The "Average" (mean, even median) human is pretty stupid, but what is SCARIER is that 50% of humans are, by definition, stupider (sic).

This sounds like the same procedure for discharging a capacitor, that is, use a jumper to ground one of it's terminals to the chassis.

Exactly correct. It drains the volatile memory which is held by (I'm sure) capacitors.
