Open sunroof manually

How does one open the sunroof on a 1997 xj6L manually

Drop the panel that has the sunroof controls and garage door buttons. You will see the sunroof motor and the center portion of the motor has a large slot you can stick a screwdriver into and turn by hand.

i can do that.what i want to know is can i make every thing manual and bypass using the motor at all

Not by design, but I suppose you could remove the motor and fit some sort of "crank" to the manual "emergency" gear *shrug* You'd have to fab up something yourself.
