Default Put rebuilt valve body in transmission -no reverse!

In an effort to be proactive, I brought my 2000 XK8 into a local independent Jag shop to replace the chain tensioners, water pump, and thermostat housing. The transmission was working well but, just in case, I purchased a rebuilt valve body with the updated main pressure valve from Sunbelt Valve Body Rebuilders. The mechanic installed the valve body without a problem, but now there's no reverse! Everything else is normal; the transmission shifts into Drive, Neutral and Park, but when reverse is selected it doesn't move. The mechanic is stumped; he had no problem removing the old valve body and putting the new one in, and there are no OBD codes showing.

He's calling up Sunbelt to see if they can help, but I was wondering if any of the forum members had run into a similar problem. I was supposed to pick up the car today, so I'm totally bummed out by this and in fear of what additional $$$ I might be looking at.
