Default quad exhaust tips for 2004 XKR

I'm doing a muffler delete exhaust mod on my xkr. It currently has single exhaust tip on both sides. I'm trying to determine quad tip options. Has anyone tried and could recommend what to get? I searched and did not find anything for going from single to dual on both sides for 2004.

The OEM quad tips were only available later in the run after the facelift where the front and rear bumper was updated. They are are pretty tight on the early bumper (if you could even find a set).

Since you are modifying the exhaust, I would say measure the opening, find an aftermarket set that you like and that is the right width, then have your exhaust shop graft them on with the proper depth to look good.

To add on to what Charlie said, I would make sure to look for tips that are staggered/angled such that they follow the curvature of the bumper. Maybe that goes without saying, but it's an easy thing to overlook (if you have preferences for that sort of thing). I realized this when I was looking into doing this myself a while back (although I ultimately decided to keep the tips).

boseafish,

To confirm what Charley and Mr. Sandwich are both saying.....The double Tips came only on the 2005 & 2006 XKR...The XK8 for those years was only single Tips. You would have to cut the Bumper Area if you tried to use the Double Tips or change the Rear Bumper.....

Very dirty 2000 XKR with Mina mid muffler delete quad tips.
l don't think they look out of place. No bumper mod.

Default Got a set of quad tips sitting somewhere in my garage

Bose’s fish,

My 99 XK8 came with some high end quad exhaust tips, which I switched out as part of changing the CATs and upgrading to a full stainless steel sports exhaust.

I remember the quads fit ok.

If you want me to post the tips to you, Private Message me your address. No need to pay, just give a donation to Jag Heritage. Only problem is I’m away working in Saudi for a while. You’ll have to be patient. I might be home during Ramadan though

Thanks for all the info and offer! I measured the opening and it runs over 6” on each side. Should have enough space unless I’m missing something. Having an exhaust shop do it on 4/15... hoping for great results. I’ll post results!
