Thanks for the photos. I also enjoyed the pics of those lovely Sunbeams. Who brought Jay Leno's McClaren to the show? Somehow I can't quite imagine Leno sitting around in a folding lawn chair with a cooler next to his car all day talking to folks wandering by. But now that he's "retired", perhaps he did....

Jon,
Although I did not see him drive in this year as I did last, I was told that Jay, himself, drove the McClaren into the park.

I met George (TireFriar), Tom, and of course Ted as well as many other interesting characters. The saddest was one guy with a pristine maroon XK-E coupe (he does very high end auto upholstery). He was polishing up his car and said it was for sale. He had spent 12 years restoring it but he had some pressing financial needs and he hated the thought of parting with the car but sometimes other things in life take precedence.

I felt great when a middle aged couple came up to admire my car and the guy was asking if I wanted to sell it. He has started doing research about these cars and I advised him to browse around the forum here. He truly appreciated my car so that was pleasing.

However, the nicest story regarding my car happened just before leaving. I had been parked next to a British guy who apparently was somehow involved in the original launching our our generation XK8/R and he had driven up with a loaded to the gills new F8-R. He seemed to love my car and kept telling passersby how those were the best generation, yada, yada, yada.

Anyway right before I left I was lurking in the background eating my hamburger and notice some guy walking up looking at my car, looking at the F, looking at my car again and then spending a bunch more time looking at my car. So I walk up and ask which car he likes better. Without hesitation he said my car (he actually thought I owned both). So that made my day.

Here are some pictures (hope I am doing this right).

Doug
It was a pleasure meeting you, Doug, along with Ted and George and everyone else. One of the best show's I've ever attended, aside from the dust, tree droppings, etc. We had similar expressions of interest in our XK8. My wife originally wanted an XJS, but once she had the opportunity to compare the two side-by-side, she walked away happy. Actually, she still likes the XJS, so we will see if another cat joins the family in time...

Tom

Actually, he did hang out and mugged for pictures with his fans. A totally approachable guy.

I saw some XKs, but did not get to meet anyone. Hopefully I meet some of the local members soon.

Hey--you put us all to shame. A great collection of photos. Did you have a car there as well?

I couldn't open the facebook page, the whole page was not available. I would love to see the pictures.

And Tom,
Nice to have met you as well, I included several shots of your beautiful BRG XK8 when it was alongside mine.

Sorry, I will upload it on Photobucket and include a video of that Daimler propane cannon in action.

Wouldn't open for me at first either, then I realized I had not signed on into Facebook. Then all was good.

This grey XKE looks like it might be the prettiest one I have ever seen. Love the wire wheels and the seams look factory tight, without the gaps that we almost always see on them.

OK, I also saw a Mustang in there. What's up with that?

I took pictures of any car I found somewhat interesting and just did a massive upload. I've found that parking lots for car events contain some serious machines, sometimes as much as the events themselves, haha.

Was that a response to my question about the Mustang? If so, I don't criticize your taking a photo of it, I was just wondering if it somehow had some British connection.
