Hey Guys,

I have a question which may sound a little clueless but wanted to post to get some responses.

Are there major differences between the 4.2 engine in the XK8's and the 4.2 engine in the XF ?

I recently was given an XF to drive for a week while my car was in for service. The XF 4.2 seemed much more responsive. In the lower 3 gears it really flew through the tach, much quicker than the XK8.

Is the engine/tranny combination that much different (my xk8 is an 06)?

Is it just a very different ECM programming curve ?
