Default Quite a week ! P1722 and ...

Hey gang , We have 3 cars and they are all broken at the same time !
The only one I could drive- 98 C280 waiting for backing plates (the springs attach to them for the E brake) is in getting painted.
My wifes 2005 Jetta tdi has an issue with the turbo.
And today the 97XK8 is throwing the gearbox fault and P1722 code .
So like a vet I make the rounds and search the forum. Lots of info and probably an A drum. O.K. I'm thinking these things happen in three's.Then I see the VIP section is gone ! four's ? really? (just joking , that was the right decision)

I finished tearing down my first engine last night so unfortunately I don't expect I will be fixing it myself. Lots to learn first. Just wanted to say thanks for the info and mention that guys like Gus, Brutal, H20boy (and many more) are a Godsend to rookies like me. You are also responsible for my new interest in anything car related (my wife may not thank you as openly however).
Hope I can be as useful to others someday as well.

Hopefully only in threes...I recently backed my BMW into the side of my wife`s pristine Mustang GT, then a day or two later I was working on my motorcycle and dropped a huge socket, denting the front fender, then...and this is the really scary one...a couple of days later I was on the interstate ramp in my XKR and something literally fell from nowhere, resulting in a nice little dent with the paint scraped to the metal on the top of the rear quarter panel. I sure hope I am done now!!! For a little while I was warning my friends not to stand too close to me!

Cost was 2593.00 for the repair . Was the A drum . Now the headliner is drooping . My wife wants me to sell ! Now that everything has been replaced . Never !!

ouch, yah when I read your first post, I knew you were on the right diagnosis track...sorry the wife is giving you grief. A headliner should be easy to either DIY, or if it were me, I'd just pay a shop to do it. I'd end up breaking something else.
