Random warning Chimes
I tried the method suggested with the nine steps outlined in the instructions multiple times. This didn't work on "Nigel" my 2005 XKR. In fact when there should be a chime, seat belt not fastened upon starting a drive, often there was no chime. I am at a loss. Can a repair shop just disconnect the chime? Any other ideas would be appreciated. (I've put up with this annoyance for many months but it is time for an elimination action.)
Thank you.

These cars never had a warning chime for an unfastened seatbelt. They were made back when the decision of whether if you live or die, whether if you remain in the car or are shot out of it through the windshield in the event of a crash, was up to you to decide.
The warning chimes ther cars DO have are:
- Door ajar with the key in position II.
- Right when the car is started.
- When the turn signals and/or hazard lights are activated.
- When the car is turned off with the gear lever not in Park position.
- When setting off with the Park brake (or e-brake) engaged.
Is any of those not activating when it should? Are you getting a warning chime or gong besides those?

Yes that would be the Door Ajar one I mentioned. I wasn't sure if it was key in on its own or key in II position.
