KISS sounds too light for the big ends ,they would not all fail together usually just one ...wip off the top covers and check the timing chain...its there all the time not just on deceleration. Maybe just the top guides have failed. You will find bits of the guides in the sump if the guides have failed

Definitely too light for bottom end, IMO. Could well be rattly chains, but I'd whip the serpentine off and run the engine briefly for a $0 check if it's something in the accessory train.

Keep the tests to an absolute minimum until you've eliminated any problem with the chains/tensioners.

I'd also recommend that you use a spreader of some sort between the jack cup and the front crossmember.

Does it make the noise when the engine is in gear and driving the wheels?

Remove accessory belt and quickly try again as suggested.

Remove oil filler cap and listen there.

Does it sound as loud when listening from above the engine?

As already stated, it does not sound like mains bearing, big ends or small ends.

Engineers stethoscope on timing chain cover may help.

Thank you everybody your assistance in this matter. Due to time restraints I have sent the car to my mechanic to take to covers for further investigation. It does sound like chains even though both primary and secondary were replaced 90k ago by Graeme Lord.
I removed the serpentine belt but all is ok there.I
will keep you posted with a further update
