Question Tinny Rattle From Rear of Engine

Hi. My 2000 XK Coupe has started to show signs of a short, tinny rattle from the right rear of the engine when the revs are flipped up and down to and from about 1500 revs. Should I be worried enough to rush to a jag hospital?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have something similar but only for the first minute of warm up then it goes. I have a thread on it from about a week or so ago, unfortunately no conclusion.

I'm going to try to get over to an indie to let them listen sometime soonish, but since the car has been doing it for about 2 years now, I'm not in a big rush.

Is it a rattle or a chatter?

Default Re tinny rattle

Hi - it is more like an empty tin rattle but only when blipping the throttle through a short range of revs - around 1500 rpm.

Default Tinny rattle development

Hi. The tinny rattle at the rear of the engine has now developed into a more sinister sounding solid chatter - on the overrun only. The front end has recently had all the chain tensioners etc renewed to the metal spec. and the full correct kit used as far as I know.
Any ideas would be most appreciated.

I've got what is probably the exact same sound on the overrun when coming down from 2000 to around 1500 rpm... Chains and tensioners were done recently and I was freaking out that it was them but it seemed odd that it would only occur at a specific rpm. Went underneath and sure enough the rattle appears to be coming from a Cat.

Have to scrape up some cash to sort that out, bit of a killer getting large things like Catalysts shipped over here!
