Rear Brake Pad Replacement/Recalibration
I may switch out the semi metallic rear brake pads for ceramic on a 2002 XK8 and was wondering if after the rear brake calipers were opened up and the new pads are in does the parking brake have to be recalibrated such as on the 2003 S type? The S type must go thru a recalibration procedure but does the XK8 also or not?

The S-Types have the electronic parking brake. XK8 has the old school lever and cable style so you should not have any re-calibration needed other than "pull lever and verify it works".
Plus the parking brake shoes are separate from the caliper, instead being on the inside of the rear rotor like a drum brake. If you are not replacing the rotor you won't affect the parking brake at all.
If you are replacing the rotors you should buy new parking brake shoes too.
