Smile Rear brake pads for 2001 XK8

Does anyone have the part number for the EBC redstuff rear pads for a 2001 XK8. When I go to the auto parts warehouse there are just so many different part numbers for these pads.

Also, are these better pads than the Akebono that some members have recommended?

Could you please recomend the best value place to purchase the pads from?

Many thanks for all your help,

David Packwood

Question David: do you want better performance or lower dust generation?

That will determine which pad I recommend to you.

H20boy,
Which pads would you recommend for better performance?

I installed the Advance AP 'Gold' ceramic pads, less than $50 with tax, guaranteed for life or free set, no noticeable dust, stops just like original. But then I do not drive aggressively so as to test the edge of their capability.

I've had both Aekebono Euros and EBC reds on the car. The aekebonos generate less dust, much less than the E-reds. For performance, the reds are highly recommended even by our jag tech BRUTAL who does some racing.

H20- How do the ceramic pads treat the discs? Any extra wear?

I was very happy with Hawk pads on my XK8. For me they were a good combo of low dust, good stopping, and no noise. I drive "spirited". I'm not a racer, but I like to really use the car from time to time and they Hawks did fine.
