Default Rear Diff

Was checking all my fluids before a 1200 road trip and cannot figure out how to check the rear differential level?
Any help?
Thanks in advance!
Jack

Of the top of my head your differential has a fill plug. You need to put a half inch drive extension and ratchet, crack it and fill it until the level is at the bottom of that fill plug. Is a bit of a pain to get to but you can access it from the rear of the diff look around the brace.

Thank You daxter, I can see the plug (barely) but looks impossible to loosen with all that bracketing in the way

Commendable attention to detail but if there's no sign of leakage from the input/output seals or around the drain plug or casing joint, I wouldn't go looking for trouble.

It looks like the input shaft seal may have a leak, that's why I was checking, just need to get it from FL to home in Ct to sort things out, leaving in an hour

If you are curious, Welsh Enterprises sells the pinion seal separately while Jaguar requires you to buy the entire bearing. I only found this out after I did the whole thing.
