Exclamation Rear Seat and Trim Board removal

Does anyone have instructions on how to remove the Back Seat in a 97 XK8. Also I'm trying to get under the front Seat Carpet but I don't know the trick to get the metal board (the one that says Jaguar in the Door way) out. Cheers.

Here's the instructions for removing and refitting the rear seat:

JTIS - 1997 XK8 Coupe - Rear Seat Cushion.pdf

JTIS - 1997 XK8 Coupe - Rear Seat Back.pdf

The 'metal board' is called a Treadplate. The section with 'Jaguar' on it is the Treadplate Insert. I've never removed one but according to the Parts Manual, it's held on with six M6 paint clearing screws.

The treadplate insert is fastened with very strong double sided tape. Heat it generously with an electric heat gun while gently lifting it up. You need to be very careful not to bend it or it must be replaced. I start at one end with a knife and then pull it along and up with 22 ga. solid copper wire so as not to scratch anythng. Once it is up you will have access to the screws. If you keep it clean it should be sticky enough to reuse without additional adhesive.
