Rear Subframe Drop

Rear Subframe Drop
How do you remove the exhaust hanger above the rear subframe? There are two (2) bolts, but I cannot fathom how to reach them. These connections are located above the notorious flattened section of exhaust pipe that arches up over the drive axles. It supports the exhaust pipe there and is connected to the top of the subframe link.
The only workaround I could see would be to disconnect that section of the exhaust pipe, and drop the pipe with the complete assy. JTIS just says "unfasten it" Yea, sure.
I wanted to identify a rattle/clunk by checking condition of upper shock bushes, especially the ones above the mounting plate. But dropping the entire rearend assy proved to be too complicated with the exhaust hanger issue. Instead I just dropped the subframe plate, and left the link, diff, axles, etc. in place. That was a tough enough job by itself!
The bushes were in great shape and the rattle was a shock tower plate fastening bolt(s) and sway bar link. But I am still mystified as to how one disconnects that exhaust hanger above the rear axle. Somebody must have a neat home garage solution.
