Rear view mirror removal

I use 2 pocket screw drivers to form a VEE and place them in the slots to pull the mirror DOWN.
I replaced DOZENS of mirrors when I worked at the dealer and prying is the safest way to remove/install.
You can use a wood block, mallet or similar but you risk breaking a windscreen (ask me how I know?)
PRY UP to install the mirror.

I was talking to someone at a well known Jaguar supplier about my mirror the other day, and contrary to everything I've ever seen, heard, or read, this guy told me that the mirrors don't leak. I have always laid a couple of towels on my dash and console to keep what I have been told, is a caustic substance that will eventually leak out of the mirror. I will continue to do so until I fix or replace my mirror. What do you guys think?

I have an aluminium gear lever knob with a stain from my leaking mirror to prove it.

Just as an FYI, I recently replaced my defective mirror with one that includes a backup monitor and wi-fi camera. Easy to install. Came with adapters, and one of them fit the Jag windshield bracket.

I just called Sybesma's yesterday (08-16-19) and the price is $125 complete with return shipping.
They no longer offer 'exchange' mirrors but I never used that option anyway.
My first repair about 15 years ago was well under $100 but the price has increased incrementally over the years.
I'll get the damaged one in the post on Monday so I'll have a spare when I or a customer needs it.
