The interesting urine colored shapes in the glass of my rear view mirror finally annoyed me enough that I pulled it out this morning and sent it off to Sybesma's electronics for repair. Its due to be delivered on Friday.
I will let you know how it turns out. They will rebuild the unit I sent them for $97 including return postage. They do not have rebuilt units for a 99 XK8 with the Auto Lights On at Dusk on the shelf.

 

I have used radar-mirror.com and they fixed my mirror with the auto-dimming feature. I used them because they fix your own mirror instead of replacing. They did an excellent job!

Mine was the same, and it is very nice when it function as it should.

 

Good to know there's an alternative to Sybesma at a similar cost.

Mirror Repair

The repair rather than exchange service would be a preferable option to me.

my 97 XK8 rearview mirror past away to better world, i didread recent threads pertaining to mirror replacement, i did come across a used mirror out of 2001 XK8 with 88K milesthe mirror appears to be in good shape , however when they pulled it off itlooks like it has rain sensor the plus has two wire harnesses vs. one on myoriginal, does anyone has the wring diagram for the tow mirror type?

I would like torewire the junkyard mirror.
