Cool rear windows and roof not latched.

Bit of an odd issue this.

Twice in the past three weeks I have lowered the front drivers window and the rear windows have dropped fully. Only way I know to raise them is by the roof control.

Dropped roof and raised it again only to find that the roof won't latch. leaving it for 30mins with the keys out allows me to drop and raise the roof with everything returning to normal.

No codes stored. Any suggestions ?

First thing to check with strange electrical issues is the battery voltage and a load test. The window motor draws a lot of current as witnessed by their 30a fuses and will drop a weak battery out of the various computer's operation zone.

Did these issues occur with the engine running or off?

engine was running. Battery readings ~14V when running, 13.2V when off, battery is about a year old.

Just occurred to me that both times it has done this have been wet days, possibly water getting into some relay ?

Check the fluid level in the convertible top pump and make sure it is between the two embossed lines.

The rear windows have been known to behave erratically when the top cycle does not end properly, which could be due to a low fluid level.

Also, go back and check the voltage on your battery after the car is not run for a day. 13.2 volts indicates surface charge from just running the car and is not an accurate measure of battery health.

Will check when I have the time later today. I suspect the fluid level will be ok as both times it has done this the roof hasn't been opened for at least a week prior .
