Default Recall possibly ignored

Hi. I understand that there was a recall of XK8s in 2004 for transmission probs (Recall TSM-TSB-304-14). I can not ascertain if - a) my proposed purchase of a 2003 was modified and
b) if this is likely to prove costly to rectify if it wasn't.
As ever, I throw myself on the mercy of the Men of Knowledge with gratitude for any advice.

I don't have that TSB in my library but 'motorcarman' will be along shortly to supply the document I'm sure.

If you are buying the car you might take the VIN to a dealer and ask nicely if the service was done. Jaguar maintains a world wide data base of such things done under warranty or recall but not repairs at a specific dealer. A TSB is not a recall but a bulletin.

I just looked in Topix & transmission is section 307. Please recheck the bulletin.

The referenced TSB is available here

I'd speculate that if the car is not exhibiting the problem now (10 years later) either the TSB has been done or it wasn't a problem child in the first place.

That was not a 'recall' but a service action to be taken in the event of customer complaint.

If the PO didn't complain, it wouldn't be done.

I only have North American TSBs so a European can car might have a completely different set of Bulletins.

I only uploaded NA spec car TSBs to the large file area.
