As a result of my wife's XK8 being struck by a careless driver back on May 27th, her right front wheel suffered cosmetic damage. The insurance company's intent is to replace the wheel with a new one, but thus far neither the body shop nor the local Jaguar dealership parts department have been able to locate a replacement 19-inch Atlas chrome front wheel anywhere in the US or UK.

So I'm looking for reputable and reasonable wheel refinishers/re-chromers. They will be required to pass muster with the insurance company. Does anyone have any experience with wheel re-chromers? If so, please provide me with their name, location, and contact information.

This unfortunate situation is dragging out our XK8's repair process (the accident was three weeks ago tomorrow). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated....

 

Perhaps your shop has already tried but is Coventry West in the list of folks that have been contacted? They are one of the largest Jaguar specific recyclers in the country. They also are very helpful and might be a good source of a platting company recommendation.

 

The shop tells me they have checked with "our big Jaguar parts supplier in Atlanta". I assume that is Coventry West. But I'll doublecheck with the shop today just in case....

Anyone else have any suggestions? This issue is holding us up big-time....

 

I've seen several ads for calchrome - never used them but you may wnat to give them a try

 

The shop has been communicating with Calchrome since late last week. They are a possibility, but not definite yet....
