Reflashing a New ECM
Hey I own a 2001 Jaguar XK8 Coupe
I recently purchased a donor ECM from eBay for my 2001 Jaguar XK8, as my original ECM has bad capacitors (I believe leading to some issues under already diagnosed readiness system, in particular being the 02 sensors) and is causing the car to run rich and burn excessive amounts of gas due not being able to read all the data collected and always running on closed loop, I've already done all tests and it confirmed its the original ECM. I need to reflash this new ECM so that the immobilizer recognizes it. I still plan to fix the original ECM on a later date and have one as a back up.
Could anyone recommend the appropriate software and tools needed for this task? I know its an older car and most of what I'm researching online is spinning me in circle and new software only claims to do handle 2005 and up. I'm looking for both the least expensive and the most expensive options. Additionally, I do not have access to an old Windows XP or Windows 7 laptop, so I'll need solutions that are compatible with more recent versions of Windows.
