I was wondering if anyone knows if this replacement skin from an older XJ6 would fit a XK8, to delete the cup holders.
Epoxy the cup holders closed, fill the joint between the two tops, foam and filler?

A friend had good luck with this company. Takes a bit of effort, cleaning the old stuff off if I remember rightly.

The XJ40 console lid (1988-1992) will fit the 4.0 XJ/XK cars. Some later XJ40 sedans came with cupholders.
The lid is held closed with a magnet but can be modified slightly to work fine.

The interior colors are NOT the same so it will need to be dyed.

too bad no one seems to make replacement covers for the non-cupholder versions of the XK.
Would make deleting them so much easier.

 

I recall hearing somewhere that the UK versions of the XK8 had no cup holders. When I explode this in the past Topsonline even made a cover for the non-cup holder versions.

Look up Paul's Jaguar in Florida. They have the matching leather and can recover this item for you as well as make repairs, perhaps modifications.

 

I'm interested in this too. I guess one option is to simply glue it shut. Have an older Lexus. Similar problem. There was an aftermarket option which replaced cupholder w/ a storage area to hold cell phone.
