Replacement ecm
No.
LNC1410BB is for MY98 cars and not suitable.
From a document noting differences for MY98:
"
ECM
+Software changes are introduced to support the revisions to the exhaust camshafts. On NAS vehicles, additional software changes are introduced to operate the leak check of the fuel tank and evaporative loss system. As a result, the 1998 ECM cannot be installed in a 1997 MY XK8

Your existing ECM may be salvageable?

Don't know what country or market the car was designed for but the North American cars for 1997 did NOT have RFID 'chips' in the keys and NO KTM immobilizer.
The 1998> ECM was configured for the KTM and immobilizer.

Don’t replace your ecm, repair it. Plenty of info on it here and jag repair.com. I did mine for 35 bucks and some time and have enough parts to do it again if needed. Cleared 11 of my 14 codes(two were abs I also repaired that module, and one is airbag) pm me if needed I could guide you through it. If you can take time and patience to remove seven capacitors from a circuit board and replace them (7 total of four values/types) than it’s easier than you think. Will save you hundreds maybe thousands of dollars trying to swap ecms . Once new capacitors are soldered in, clean up board and reinstall, most if not all your troubles will be gone.

They were mostly appearing to be good, but some were bulged out on the bottom of them vs the top where they normally bulge. One small area showed signs of leakage from a long time ago. Did all seven just because I was in there.
