The OEM subwoofer in my '97 XK8 coupe has begun to rattle from any amount of bass from my stereo. I'd rather have a new aftermarket unit if I could find one that fits, or only needs minimal work to fit. Has anyone put in a new subwoofer in a coupe that could recommend one? I don't particularly want to fork over $130 for another used unit which could just as easily fail again.

^^ This. Your foam edge surround has probably deteriorated and is flaking apart. Simply Speakers sells new foam edge kits that come with everything you will need to replace yours. The included instructions are excellent as well. Anyone with a healthy dose of patience can do this at their kitchen table. The key is to carefully remove all remnants of the old foam edge before gluing the new foam edge into place....
