Default replacing carpet

Has anyone had experience with replacing their carpet. Our 2000 XK8 has pinkish splotches on the carpet where it looks like the previous owner had tried to cleanup the green shower mess or something. I did a couple of searches on the list but came up empty. Did some googleing not much there. I wonder if it can be cleaned or recolored if not replaceable.

Thanks

Tom

Are the spots everywhere? If it is not too bad try a apholstry spay that may match it good enough to make it look better.

Thanks guys. Yes, I did see the World Upholstery site and will see what they have and yes, the spots are everywhere -kinda funky in a psychedelic way- maybe I'll add some lava lamps and call it good. Could be a whole new way to enjoy the Jag.

I saw a set on "the bay" yesterday while looking around. Can't remember the price but looked reasonable.

Thanks -07, I can't seem to locate it on e-bay. Lots of floor mats but no full carpet sets. If you happen to see them again slip me a link if you could. More snow coming so she's going back under the cover.

I replaced my carpet. I couldn't find custom fit carpet so I ended using house carpet. It is very thick and nice. The end job turned out very good but it was really a lot of work. I made a piece (half box shape) for each side. It was fitted to the floor and then all I had to do was set it in place. The seats and safety belts hold it is place. I used Gorilla tape and string, and a sack needle to form the corners, dips and curves. I had plenty of time because I was waiting for the wheels to be re-chromed in California. If you are looking for a factory look, this is not it. It looks better, It is way too plush. If I had it to do again I would look harder to find custom fitted carpet.
