Default Replacing front shocks on 2002 XK8

I received several helpful posts, including several pages out of the workshop manual. However, I have been unable to find a source for the KYB shocks that were recommended. Your help will be appreciated!

Bilstein is a much better shock than KYB. I went with new Bilsteins in my wife's 2006 XK8 (rears in October 2014, fronts in January 2016)....

Default KYB Shocks, not for XK8

When I had to change the shock mounts on my 2000 XK8 I looked into changing the shocks. I check KYB and they did not have a OEM style shock for the XK8. I did not replace my shocks as the shocks in my car were "black" Billstein OEM replacement shocks in good condition. I think if your shocks are green then they will be the original shocks, and they will be Billstein.

I put KYB's on my daily driver Acura and not crazy about them. I think they are too stiff and cause a bit of a harsh ride. I did use Bilsteins on my Jaaaaaaaag and it rides good. TM

As far as I know, KYB does not make a shock for these cars. I don't know who recommended them to you. The shock you should buy is the Bilstein, end of story.

Default 2002 XK8 shock replacement

Well, Jaguar enthusiasts, the votes have been tallied and the winner, by far, is the Bilstein shock. Rock Auto is listing for about $95 each, so that is where I am going!
