I discovered Top Gear (BBC America) last year. What a great show! Here are some clips from past seasons where they featured the XKR.

I really love watching that show, especially when a jag is on it. Everytime I see that video I want to go buy an 08 or 09 XKR...in red, even though he says it is a horrible color.

did you guys see last week's s-type diesel track run?

I've been *ahem* obtaining the British version of Top Gear for years and it is truly great. The music is as intended, the news is uncut, and you aren't a series or two behind like the BBC America shows. They are planning a US version of Top Gear and I hope it is even partially as good as the British version. The 6 series, 911, XKR comparison is one of my favorites. There is a longer version of that video floating around. If youtube worked better here at work, I'd post a link for it.

I love that show too!! It gives a real analysis of all cars. I do hear that someone in America is trying to copy this show for the US. Kinda like when we got American Idol (yuck) and Americas Got Talent ( with NO American judges!) ! I hope they don't botch it up by letting the advertisers give us a watered down version of this show. British got this one right as they do a lot other shows!! Rock on Top Gear!!

Yes - really like the ending - where they showed Sabine wiped Jeremy's butt with the S-type .... That woman knows how to drive.

The clip showing the 6-series, 911 and the XKR is the one that sold me on the XKR. I was considering all 3 - and the CLK AMG - but after watching that video - I never looked back.

I know the followings are not related to Jags - I don't know if you guys have seen the clips where:
- they raced around the airstrip driving airport vehicles
- the challenge where each host had to built amphibious car

If you have not - you have to look them up - it's a hoot!

I get Top Gear also and like it. For those who haven't seen it, I would describe it as a combination of "Motor Week" and "Jackass".

Thanks for the Top Gear vids. Listening to the UK XKR sounds made me remember why I described the sound of my 2002 after taking out the center muffler, as "the way it should have sounded in the first place!"

Do/did the UK models have a different exhaust system? DaleD

Top Gear (BBC) has been hugely successful here in Australia
The Australian version was a poor copy of the BBC one and it looks like it might not get a 3rd season.

Luckily Australia is nearly up to date with the latest episodes from the UK so we don't have to wait out for long for them to air here.

There are also a heap of books and DVDs as spinoffs from the show that are great entertainment too.

I am glad that the Americans are now getting access to some of the best automotive TV in the world.

The Brits & the Aussies can still teach the USA a thing or two still
