Default resistor for convertible top

Has anyone purchased the individual items to make up the set for reducing the pressure on the convertible top?
If so would it be possible to get me the info as to what and where the items were purchased?
thanks

You'll find the resistor info in this thread -
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...raulics-42013/

and this is likely the post you want -

If your're contemplating an installation, there are two new, improved installation methods shown. These are better than my own method shown in the first PDF. Thanks to Test_point and RichXK8 (member of another forum) for these contributions.

This will be, with a little luck, the last PDF for a while. If any user problems develop, I promise to report on them.

Edit: the most recent version of the PDF file is always available for download from: www.scorekeeper.com/jaguar/jaguar02.htm

Norri, no, please don't open that thread! There be dragons there!

Steelman ... my bad. I owed you a PM on this. The info is at the link Norri cited. Easiest to get to through the link in my sig. line below.

A quick google for a suitable resistor turned up ...
Aliexpress.com : Buy 0.2 Ohm 100Watt Power Metal Shell Case Wirewound Resistor 5% from Reliable case free suppliers on Shenzhen Fu-well Tech Co.,Ltd
... among others. (this one is from China; probably weeks for delivery.)

Yes, it could get even worse than an oil thread, but, alas, I think that most of the protagonists are long gone.

Thank you, I see from other entries that Rev had stopped long ago. I hadn't realized that when I asked for contact info.I will see if I am able to purchase the correct materials and install. Not that great with electrics. Better with hammers and wrenches. If I am unsure, rather than smoke my cars I'll just let it go.

I installed the resistor and also only operate the top on battery power, just for good luck. No shower so far and I used the top a lot this summer.

Did you buy the pcs and assemble? If so did you purchase from the sites listed on the thread that has been linked?

Steelman, the only source for "plug and play" assemblies I know of is Reverend Sam, and I don't think he's making these up at present.

There are instructions on my link for choosing a resistor and connectors and soldering up what you need. Honestly it's pretty easy.

Dennis,
Thank you. I learned that Rev wasn't making them anymore. I was trying to find out if the websites listed were where he purchased his.

In spades. Ever seen that movie "Groundhog's Day"?

BTW, I like your Einstein quote. It has the rare virtue of being something he actually said.

Ouch! Have to correct myself. I passed on the resistor and went with the reducer valve. Just seemed more logical.
