I am new to the group and seeking help for what seems to be a neverending battle to fix my dad's pride and joy!
2000 Jag XK8 - Car was running fine then encountered a crack in the coolant tank which caused a significant leak - car was off the road pending the repair which took longer than I'd liked! Unit replaced, car wouldnt start, assumed due to sitting for a couple of weeks, so replaced the battery, turnt the car on and it was in restricted performance mode. Car cuts out as soon as pressure it applied to accelerator, however that seems to have resolved itself and car now runs, but very poorly and still in restricted performance mode.
Plugged the car in to a diagnostic machine, and receiving a few error codes shown below. Knock sensor bank 1 replaced and still no resolution. What should I try next? I'm keen to fix the car as condition wise it's mint, so it would be a shame for it to go to a breakers yard. Thank you!
Have you checked to see if any coolant made it in with the spark plugs and coils?
I suggest this as my 1999 is running like a dog and I have restricted performance error to and the garage have found coolant in with my spark plugs, I've not fixed my issue yet though.
+1 on clear codes, then see what returns.
Knock sensors do not like coolant
Check the connectors each side of the thermostat tower.
If they're OK you can try can try removing and cleaning the other sensor:- I think you can get to them without removing the inlet manifold.
You are not seeing any misfire codes, but it will do no harm to check the plug wells are clean & dry.

In your original post you said that you'd replaced the knock sensor for Bank 1, but you're now showing a fault on bank 2. Start with replacing that as well.
