Default Restricted Power

Well, the Jag I was going to buy is currently in the shop over at Foreign Accents here in GSO.

The current owner (known as SkidMark on here) let me know today.

So, it may not be this week that I get it, but if Scott and the great crew over there can get it fixed, then I will still pick it up as soon as it is done.

Crossing my fingers.

Just received a call that it was a 'clogged O2 sensor' and that it has been fixed

Does that sound right to anyone? Seems to me (though I do not know much at all) that the bad/clogged sensor could cause a lean issue.

Seems I will be picking up my car on Tuesday

'Restricted Power or Performance' mode is a safety feature to protect the engine in case of faults. There are literally dozens of unrelated faults that will invoke this message. One needs to use an OBDII code reader to dig deeper into the specific issue.

Bottom line, their diagnosis is plausible from the information you provided, but not necessarily indicated.

ODBII called no faults after the replacement/fix that the current owner had done. I am happy with that, and stoked to get my new to me Cat!
