The first thing that came to mind was the dust sheid, which is easily deformed, became bent and is rubbing agains the rotor. But, you said you checked for the rotor for scraping against the dust shield backing plate as in the pic below, correct? I assume when you did that and check again, you had the rotor bolted tight against the hub assy? Better even if you remounted the wheel, maybe?

Possible that the rotor is out of plane and scraping something on the caliper? I've checked for runout when nothing else seems to be logically causing something like what you describe.

Oldtimer, maybe you could say more about what you hear? When you hear it and how loud it is.

I don't want to assume I know exactly what you mean about rotor rubbing.

Thanks
John

I would hear it all the time when the wheel was turning, was like the rotor rubbing caliper or rubbing sound. I had to use a puller to get off the rotor and now sound is gone. so I put it back together and now raining so will check tomorrow. Thank You all

Totally different subject, what paint did you use under there? Love the finish.

The black is standard off the shelf black enamel. Probably from Home Depot or Ace Hardware.

The silver is G2 caliper epoxy / paint.

Whenever I install a rotor onto a hub, especially when it is a tight fit, I always insure the mating surfaces are clean and usually run a file across each to eliminate burrs or anything that could affect fitment. Also, I use a light coating of anti-seize to keep the metal parts from any dielectric issues forming.
