Default Rim fitment question

I have a friend getting rid of some rather nice rims from his BMW. They are 5x120 of course but I am unsure if they will fit due to center hub. Also they are 19X8.5 and 19x10 both with a positive 32 offset. I figured someone here would know I searched around a bit and couldn't find a real good answer..Thanks!

They will fit, XK8/R bolt pattern is 5X120.6 and the 19X8.5 and 19X10 is no problem. You will need the center bore either bored out if to small or use a hubcentric ring if to big to match the 74.1 on the Jag. 32 offset is perfect as with staggered rims my 03 runs factory 19X8X33 front and 19X9X35 rear. It can be done, take a look at this site to compare wheel and tires by size. Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com

I think bmw is 72.5 hub bore size. Has anyone bored out a rim hub?

Yes, I just bought new rims and they came with a 72.6 hub. Took them to a machine shop along with a rim off my car for exact measurement. The shop said my stock rims were 73.8 instead of 74.1 and I have seen conflicting info on the web that's why I had them measure my stock rims before boring. $50 a rim later and they are a perfect fit. If the BMW rims are lug centric, acorn shaped holes, you will need new lug nuts.

I did the same on my wheels... they were off a BMW 5-series and were 20" 5x120 and I found a tire shop nearby that bored the hub open to 73.9 (which is what they found from their sources)...

Even though I was also only boring the hub a couple of millimeters, to be extra-sure that it was okay to do I called the manufacturer of the wheels and they said it was standard procedure (they even will do it for you if you bought the wheels from them).

They are Avant Garde M310's... I found them on Craigslist from a guy whose lease was up (and he added these wheels). I paid $700 for the fairly new wheels and tires and another $200 or so getting the hubs bored out and then I sold my stock wheels (which needed tires anyways) for $500... so a net $400 for a set of awesome frickin' wheels.

I got the American Racing VN801 Daytonas. Have not put them on the car yet as I just got back from a three week vacation. Having tires mounted tomorrow.

I still like wires. Classic wheels stay around. Mag style wheels are in everyone's garage, because they go out of style every 5 years or so. I had a set of torque thrusts, that only looked good on cars of the late 60s and early 70s. I sold a peeling set of Cragar SS wheels to a collector, so he could put them on his Chevy II. Remember those gold center basket weave BBS wheels of the 80s. No one would be caught dead with them now. The stock revolvers were in style, until a few years ago, and now they make people puke. I like your style now. It is just that will you like them in a few years......Just my 2 cents.....Mike

+1 on that. I'll be installing wires on my car within the next two weeks. Everyone seems to be evenly split on whether they're too "old school" for a modern car but, as we know, there is no right or wrong here. Besides, if you don't like the wheels you have, changing them is really no big deal. It's all about what pleases you, and the enjoyment that owning one of these beautiful cars gives us.

I've always likely more classic elegant design. That doesn't mean state of the art, newest thing, or even an old popular fad. Certain things just look well together. The AR Daytona wheels look as though they would fit the xkr well. I had been looking at them for mine. They aren't the most expensive rim, maybe not even the best quality, and they have that fake spinner on their. But they seem to follow the lines of the xkr. Sure a crazy set of CCW rims would be cool. But they really don't fit the car. So Im personally stuck with what will fit and what I feel looks like it belongs which is important to me. I like my current wheels but with the current color I think I need to break up the complete silver rim...And not so sure on all black. In the end its what we each like (Never liked those cragers) Look forward to seeing them

After all of this discussion, I find that the 17" rims I thought I was buying turned out to be 16", so now I'm re-thinking the whole project; fit the 16"s, try to find 17" wires, or just go for a more modern wheel. Anyone need some 16" wires?
