The rear seat is functional. A couple friends and I went to an outdoors show ( sporting goods). and we took the Jag, the one that sat in the back seat was over 6 foot and weights about 225. Of course after the 40 minute and he tried to get out his legs were so cramped up he literally couldn't walk for about 5 minutes. LOL. On thye way back the smaller guy sat in the back...same thing happened. LOL
It has been done but like has been said, it makes getting into the rear seat impossible so redundant.
I did have a pic somewhere but I will be damned if I can find it, it looked especially good too because it had the hard cover going over the roof, gave the car a very XK180 look

The cover was similar to the pic below of the hard tonneau which was produced by Racing Green, Adamesh and Paramount use to do one.

The outer 'humps' were a bit smaller but the inner 2 were larger and more in line with the front seats, the roll bars matched up to the 2 center humps. The whole thing was made out of aluminium and was longer, this gave the appearance of the rear of the car being longer too.
The guy who commisioned all this to be done refused to have a mould made to reproduce the item in GRP, I was approached to make a mould which is why I had pics but the company had to pull out because of the customer wishes as he had paid for the work himself.
Shame really, I never pursued anything similar myself as I did not beleive many people would be willing to give up there rear seat.

I always love the tonneau used on the Bond XKR

I was trying to find a picture before the gun popped up, but I couldn't. I would love something similar.
As far as the exisiting tonneaus, I've always like the one from Paramount. Getting one may be difficult since I don't think they are made anymore:
This is Jaxkr's car. He re-covered the tonneau in leather.

What would be ideal would be a three-point roll bar only behind the driver's seat, that's removable. That way, you could have the seat in most of the time, but be able to pop in the roll bar (secured by some sort of massive pins) if you wanted a track day. My local track won't allow convertibles without a roll bar.
If I have one custom-made, I'll share it here.

Ran across this thread googling for Jag roll bars. Looks like I'm going to have to make one to have one.
I had the Safety Devices roll bar fitted to my car. If I can find a photo I will post it.
Why would anyone want to disfigure such a beautiful car in that way? If you really feel the need to do that, you have got the wrong car. While I agree that anyone has the right to modify their car as they see fit, this car really doesn't deserve to be customised (or butchered depending on how you look at it), it looks good enough in stock form.
Installed a rollbar from a Miata for aesthetic purposes. While some would question the reason for such a modification; or any modification that would be different from what came from the factory, I don't want my car to look like any one else's car. It's my car done my way, and I'm appreciative of all the creative minds on this site that refuse to leave their rides as they came from the factory, and share their ideas with all of us. Whereas I would not do to my car what some have done to theirs, I always appreciate the imagination, the effort, and the willingness to share with others their project. Below is a link with pictures to my earlier post.
