Default Sat Nav dead on XKR 2000 model

Hi

My Sat Nav screen is dead on my 2000 model XKR. The only thing it does it light up when the headlights are on but nothing on the screen.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas.

Also I see there is some sat nav control unit which I thought was the DVD player but apparently another unit. Just wondering if this could be anything to do with it and does anyone know where it is.

Sat nav disc unit is on the RH side of the boot, next to the CD stacker.

When you push the on/off and/or enter button on the screen unit does it come to life?

Do you have the owner's manual for the nav system, the stickies have a copy if needed.

If it's the nav screen you are in luck, many have dumped the mfg nav screen for either a install of newer GPS or back to 3 cluster gauge so there are probably quite a few floating around. I'd suggest you debug it yet but if needing replacement shouldn't be a big deal (and easy to do)

Thanks for your replies. I pressed the DVD button in the boot ejected the DVD and put back in but nothing so maybe the screen has gone.

The only way I suppose might be to try another, although I believe in addition to the DVD and the screen there's supposed to be some sort of control unit but not sure.

Any ideas on this

Power to the DVD reader then, which is good. From memory the screen has its own fuse, have you checked that?

On an 03 and later the fuse is number 16 in the passenger side dash fuse box, probably the same on yours but you may want to check your owners manual to be sure.

Many thanks I already checked all fuses but will check again.

When you say passenger side are you referring to RHD or LHD.

Is anyone familiar with a sat nave control module?

There are only four components; the screen/control unit, DVD reader, speed module and an antenna. The system is covered in JTIS if you have that, or in the workshop manual pdf from the stickies, which links to http://www.mediafire.com/download/ld...ed+in+1999.pdf

The other, and probably best choice, is to get the DTC codes read.

The one I sent you should cover it. Looks like they issued them in 97,99 and 03 so I linked the 99 one for you.
