Default School Me Gentlemen

So the other day I decided to do something I had never done in my R, launch it from a stop with the traction control off. Anyway, upon doing this I had an ear to ear smile as the car launched straight as an arrow, front end rising slightly in the air as it laid 2 beautiful patches of rubber behind me while squealing the tires the whole time.

My question is, it sure looks like a posi rear end but I thought these cars didnt have that ? I know what I did and saw, I used to bracket race big block Mopars 35 years ago but I am surprised.

What gives ? Thanks in advance.

This is interesting since I've heard these cars didn't come with LSD's. I do remember another forum member a couple of years ago was leaving to sets of paw prints when he launched without TC on. I tried this without TC and just lit up the right wheel only.

A possibility is that if both wheels break out at the same time they may also keep spinning if you keep applying power, but this is just a quick thought.

One thing is sure though that stock these cars do not have a LSD, maybe the previous owner put one in?

An open diff will operate like a positrac easily with an IRS rear end. geometry and physics working for you.

Our cars squat equally given some brief and equal traction on both tires.

you can see through this animation that there is really no reason an open cant spin both wheels.
