Default VIN stamp

Hi folks

Need a favour, if you pleeeeeease

My '8 failed its NCT tonight (Irish version of MOT) as the VIN plate couldn't be found. Apparently they are not allowed to read the one visible through the bottom of the windscreen. These cars don't seem to have a plate in the engine bay or under the carpet at the seats. Mine is missing its badge on the passenger door jamb as I had the car painted.

Apparently there's a stamp in the boot, on the right hand side of the wheel well. Unfortunately I have Dynamatted my entire boot so it would be helpful if someone can show me precisely where I need to uncover !

Thanks !

The car also failed on the brake pedal as there's no rubber built into the Adamesh aluminium versions I have fitted :-/

And I thought the UK MoT Regulations were pedantic!

You should find the VIN stamped into the top side of the panel behind the battery:

Thank you Graham !

Now that I know where to look, there it is, as bright as day. The NCT guys need to be better edumucated, I guess.
