Default selling price for xk8

Hi there,

UK seller.

I have a very good condition inside and out, p reg xk8, 80,000 miles new engine, 135,000 miles in all, service history. I was going to part ex for a range rover sport, they offered just £1000. Seen them going on Autotrader for £3000/4000.

Just wondering the going price, and how long if I put on Autotrader would you think it would take. Dammed the veneer is worth over a £1000.

Coupe or Convertible - there will be a price difference (convertible worth a bit more BUT more demand if put up for sale in Spring or early Summer. )

I would have thought £3k - possibly more - is realistic in the UK as long as it is pretty much rust-free and has a fairly long MOT.

Hi there,

Its a coupe. Yes I was hoping at least £3000. So sad really of a car like this, i just hate selling it for this, but.

I just sold my 97 with 100K mi for $5000. Considering that it was totally rust free and I had replaced almost all the suspension parts it seemed a shame, but it was what I expected.

I guess the dealer doesn't really want it. Depending on his forecourt prices , he'll either need to pass it on in the trade or try to sell it--with a margin to cover comebacks.

ebay, Gumtree. check out auction ones on ebay. if theres any on auction , see what the end price is . Also see the going rate on fixed price ones and undercut them-- if its not too cheap !

XK8 prices are on the rise try to find a good convertible for under £5k. I wouldn't even consider selling for under £3k if I were you.

I have 98 XK8 Convertible.
50K miles..
Ive been offered 10k on more than one occasion.
A neighbor rang my doorbell with cash in his hand.

Don't underestimate the street value for these cars. It's a very reasonable way to drive a nice car.

Seems like the one with the lowest mileage on ebay right now has a major accident in it's history. The rest are hovering around in the $7000 and up range.
