Question She will not me fill her with fuel!!!

Tried to fill up the 2001 XK8 today and she refused to let me. There was about a 1/8 of a tank of fuel left. Anyone have this problem? I had the valve open, but whenever I tried to put the fuel in it would either shut the nozzle off or came gushing out the nozzle overflow. It was not a pretty sight! Help would be really appreciated.

Thanks Bruce

Did you have they key on? The cannister close valve may be stuck closed which is the vent source for the fuel tank. If it does, the vapor goes right back out the fill neck and kicks off the gas nozzle. If youre useing a gas nozzle fill the vapor recovery sleeve, pull it back to vent without it shutting off and go slow. Then go get it fixed

Key was off and I tried to put the nozzle in many different places but to no avail. The fuel would just not seem to flow into the the tank and was coming out the hole behind the flexable rubber in the nozzle. Even when I treid to just go real slow in filling? This happened the last time but I was able to position the nozzle to work that time??

sorry, get that replaced, they do become stuck quite frequently from internal corrosion on the vent tube, pieces falling into the valve...happened to me

under car right side inboard of right rear wheel, you should also replace the little stub hose that connects to it as they tend to split and set a emmissions evap leak code
