Shock Replacement Jaguar XK8

Shock Replacement Jaguar XK8
My question is in regard to the shocks available as replacements for a 1998 Jaguar XK8 Coupe (non-XKR car). I am looking for a replacement set of shocks that are designed for more aggressive driving than the standard OEM shocks currently on my vehicle. My goal is to make a modest improvement in handling and cornering in addition to stiffening the car a bit. I state modest improvement as I do not currently wish to change the stock springs or alter the ride height of the car nor plan to do so using this set of shocks.
To my knowledge there are only a limited number of shocks available for this vehicle and of those the following are the only ones I am aware of:
ยท Stock OEM Shocks by Bilstein
ยท Bilstein Heavy Duty Shocks (F4-BE5-6726-H0 & F4-BE5-6727-H0)
ยท KYB Gas-a-Just (KG5783 & KG6796)
I would be very interested to hear from anyone who has had experience with any of these shocks or could recommend others that I should consider.
Thank You

RE: Shock Replacement Jaguar XK8
I can tell you about my very recent experience replacing the OEM shocks in my XJ8 with a set of KYB KG 5783 front shocks. In short, the experience was a disaster! There was very little difference in stiffness or handling. However the shocks introduced extremely annoying thumping and bumping noises while driving on normal city streets. In fact the noise was so bad that I became almost convinced that something was loose in the suspension system. Close inspection revealed that there were no bushing problems and no evidence of any contact so I pulled the new KYB shocks out and put in a new set of Jaguar OEM shocks; the noise went away and all is back to normal.
Unless you can put up with a very noisy ride, I would recommend not changing shocks. Hope this helps.

I believe Bilstein is the OE supplier. KYB has always been less expensive but tend to come with a few more issues. Their kit for the rear shocks of the XJ40's did they same thing. It took about six months, then sounded like the car was coming apart. Their front shocks for the same car seem just fine.
