Default Should I debadge my rear?

I suppose I will have to keep the XKR badge on the right, as it's part of the lock, but I'm not sure about the 4.2S on the left.

Does anyone know how it's attached? Is it just stuck on, or are there holes in the bodywork underneath?

I wouldn't, I like the XKR badge but each to their own.

There's no fixings listed against it in the parts manual which suggests it's stick-on.

I'd like to do the same thing, now that I've installed a new "Jaguar" chrome boot plinth. I've been a bit hesitant to start prying off the other, old "Jaguar" badge on the left side, because I'm afraid there are holes lurking under there and I'm ready for my respray yet.

I've seen a pic from XKRacer where he also removed the XK8 / XKR badge on the right, and I believe he filled the keyhole and painted. That would be my preferred solution...nice and clean...but then you rely on the boot plinth button or cabin boot release button, neither of which work when the battery is dead.

Hmmm...

The badges are stick on. You can remove them both. You'll still have a key hole.

4.2s is a limited production, why hide one of its few obvious, though small, statement of rarity from others to view?

Its only one badge, dont think it will make that much difference and not many would even notice, you either do the lot and keep the boot plinth or keep it stock......

That word...... "stock".... makes me cringe

A slight lack of badges

Opinions duly noted, thanks. Maybe I will leave it 'as nature intended'

Another day, another viewpoint...its just glue, you can always put it back on Stick it in a ziplock and tuck it away in the glovebox or boot.

When I first read your headline I thought maybe you had a 'tramp stamp' you wanted removed.
